Digital DJ Pro Tutorial #3 – Using Headphones as Mixing Aid
Digital DJ Pro is a really fun free DJing application that brings an impressive toolset that will help you to perform live mixes matching BPM in two different channels and crossfading
them. This free mixing program allows you to mix just as if you were in front of a couple of turntables and a mixer. Digital DJ Pro is capable of satisfying novel DJs as well as those who are more experienced by offering a wide variety of features, ease of use and at the same time advanced capabilities. Today I'm going to tell you how to mix with Digital DJ Pro using your headphones to enhance your mixing experience.

If you do not have Digital DJ Pro installed and running, go to the big blue “Download” button on top of this page and once you have the .exe file run it, the InstallIQTM manager will take care of the rest. So, assuming you have done the above mentioned I can tell you that using your headphones as a mixing aid is great for your music experience and the ones that are listening/dancing to what you are mixing. First of all you have to set your headphones output. Go to Options > Preferences and in the left panel select Sound Hardware.

Select the output device and the channels for Headphones and remember that they must be different from the Master settings. Click OK and you are ready to go. Plug your headphones set in the selected output.
Now with both channels loaded with a song you can play channel one and move the crossfader all the way to the left and the song will be listened through the Master device.

Click Play for the second channel and start listening to it through your headphones by hitting the Headphones button below the channel controls.

Once you are satisfied by the way both songs are mixing together (by putting the headphones in one ear and listening to the Master output on the other) start moving the crossfader towards the middle and finally all the way to the right end to kill the first channel.

This process can be repeated alternatively for first and second channel if while the master output channel is playing you load a new song in the other non-playing channel.
