Music Oasis Tutorial #1 – How to Download a Song and Store it in Your Music Library

Music Oasis is a free music desktop application that puts a huge online music library at your fingertips allowing you to download and listen to a lot of free music. This free music program connects to a free online library from where you will be able to listen and download tracks which are arranged by genre, artist and album. Music Oasis enables you not only to listen to some random music either at home or the office but also search songs to enlarge your own music library. And that is exactly what I'm about to tell you in this first Music Oasis tutorial.

A good starting point is to have Music Oasis installed and running in your computer, if you don't, go to the “Download” button on top of this page and get the InstallIQ™ installer, once you have it (i.e. in your desktop or downloads folder) run it by double clicking on it and just follow the steps.

Now that you have Music Oasis running, in its main window you'll see that it basically has two panels, on the left one you can explore the library by genre, artist, album and song and on the left one you'll see the artist's info once you have selected a song.

Before starting the download of a song you must find it in the online library, there are two ways to do so: either you browse the left panel or you can also enter some keywords in the search box. It can be found in the upper-right corner of the interface.

Once you have found the track you like, the Music Oasis interafece will look like this:

So, to start downloading the song you only have to click on the “Download” button which is right below the artist's image. The Save As window will open.

This is a regular Windows Explorer window, you can browse through your folders and even make a new one. After doing this you must enter a name for the mp3 file and click on Save. In the Music Oasis interface you'll see an indicator of the file being downloaded in the bottom-left corner.

When the song is finally downloaded that indicator will just disappear. Now you can play the song on other media players like VLC Media Player or even transfer it to your portable device.

Final words
