Nuance PDF Reader Tutorial #3 – How to Convert PDF File into Editable Format

Nuance is a powerful free PDF reader that combines simplicity in its use, a really easy to understand interface with a lot of handy tools to make your PDF reading experience more convenient and pleasing. Today I'm going to show you how to make the best of this amazing free PDF reader by telling you how to convert a PDF file into several formats.

To be able to follow this tutorial you need to have Nuance PDF Reader installed in your PC, if you don't feel free to download and install it by clicking on the “Download” button you'll find above these lines. The InstallIQ installation manager will take care of the whole process.

The first step to convert your PDF file or document is to open it, to do so go to File → Open... and browse your folder till you find it once you did click on the “Open” button.

Once you've opened it go to File → Convert PDF.

Clicking there will take you to the online application that does the magic. But not without giving us the corresponding warning as you are about to allow nuance send your files through the web. Do not panic this is a standard notice just click “Yes”

Your default web browser will open showing the NuancePDF converter web application, as you can see here you can choose the output format among 4 different types, docx (word 2007), xls (EXCELL), RTF and Wordperfect, you can also select a password to protect your file and the receiver's email.

So, in a few minutes you'll get the link to download the converted PDF in the entered email inbox. This can take longer depending on the size of the file you wanted to convert. You'll also be shown this confirmation page in the web browser.

Open your email and click on the link, once you are in the download page enter the password and select the download destination in the popup download window.

Now you can edit your PDF file in Word or whatever is the format you selected.
