Nuance PDF Reader Tutorial #1 – How to Open and View a PDF Document

Nuance PDF Reader is a versatile and free PDF reader and converter that enables you to open, view, and navigate almost any PDF and XPS document you may come across. This free PDF reader also helps you to easily convert your PDF documents into other file formats such as MS Word, Excel, RTF, and WordPerfect by the use of its online service. But it does not end there, with Nuance PDF reader you can also view your files in full screen, make annotations, highlight important parts of the text and even extract text and images from PDF files even if they are shared on a network. In this first tutorial I'm going to tell you how to perform basic tasks like opening and viewing PDF files/documents with Nuance PDF Reader.

"But first things first, if you still haven't installed Nuance in your computer you can hit the “Download” button above. Once you have finished downloading the installer to your folders (for example your desktop) you can launch the InstallIQ manager which will take care of the setup process. Just follow the steps and you'll be done in a couple of minutes."

So, the next step is to launch Nuance and what you'll see is its simple and easy to understand interface.

Go to File → Open in the menu bar.

You'll get this browser window where you can select the PDF file you want to open, so, browse through your folder till you find it and select it, then click on th “Open” button.

Nuance will then show you the content of the document, this can take a few seconds depending on the size of the file you've opened.

Easy-peasy, huh? Well to make things even more convenient, you can access your PDF file directly from the Windows Explorer context menues, so browse to the folder that contains the PDF file and right-click on it, from the popup menu select Open.

It does not matter if you have already launched Nuance, doing this will open it if it is not.
